Julia's Thoughts on the Oxford Wine Fest 2017

The picturesque city of Oxford needs no formal introductions. Visiting this city has been on my former secondary school student self’s bucket list for years. The first feeling that strikes you in this town of medieval knowledge is the close knit sense of community amplified by the narrow streets and hidden little lanes leading you into undiscovered alleyway pubs or an independent boutique store with vintage books and records.   The two-day Oxford Wine Festival was held in the prestigious Oxford Union building. Busy Autumn Ahead - Tastings & Events

We are still in the summer and trying to enjoy it as long as the English weather let us do so, but our Autumn activity planning are well-underway.  Kicking off the Autumn season on 1st September with a wine tasting at the stunning Strawberry Hill House in Teddington, London. The wine selection will be built around Asian influenced food and nibbles. The tasting starts at 7pm, pre booking is necessary, because of the limited number of spaces. Tickets are £30.  The following weekend we are going to be in another famous building but that time in Oxford at the Union where Oxford Wine Festival will take place on 8th and 9th September. Gusbourne Estate - A Great Day Out

Visiting Gusbourne Estate was on our 'to do' list for a while, not just because we love and sell their wines but also because we wanted to see if the professionalism and the style has been carried on from the wines to their new tasting room and visitor centre, The Nest. So, on a fairly sunny Sunday morning we decided to take Dino for a walk but this time, instead of walking by the river between Richmond and Kingston as usual, we heade down to the coast in rural Kent.
